You can usually go home within 1-2 hours after the abortion. If any complication develops, the patient is observed for a longer period of time. The use of antibiotics and painkillers is planned.
Post-Abortion Care at Home:
Usually, one can return to her normal activities within a few days, and even anything except for very heavy works can be done within the first 24 hours.
Antibiotics must be taken regularly.
There may be pain in the first 24 hours that requires taking painkillers.
Mild bleeding and groin pain are considered normal. Sometimes it can take up to 2 weeks.
There should be no sexual intercourse and no vaginal douching for 2 weeks.
Tampons should not be used until the next menstrual period.

The complication rate after the abortion is not very high. However, there are situations where you should call your doctor:
Prolonged bleeding (more than 2 weeks)
Prolonged cramping pain (more than 2 weeks)
Bleeding more than menstruation
Severe and increasing groin pain
Fever more than 38.3 °C
